He was a black Great Dane — gentle, huge, and impossible to forget. 
He had a way of taking up the whole couch and somehow making it feel 
like he was doing you a favor. We had years together, and not nearly enough.

When I lost him, I knew I wanted to do something that carried his name. 
Salopet is that something.
